You know that feeling when your favorite actor takes on a totally new role and you’re both excited and nervous? That’s exactly how we feel about Kim Hye Yoon stepping into the world of horror with her new film Salmokji. Yup, no more sweet high school roles, this time, she’s giving us chills.
A New Scare Begins with Salmokji

Kim Hye Yoon, known from fan-favorite TV shows like Extraordinary You and Lovely Runner, is now taking on Soo In, a woman who stumbles into something dark and dangerous while on a work trip. The setting? A creepy reservoir. Because apparently, lakes aren’t allowed to be peaceful anymore.

Joining her is Lee Jong Won (Knight Flower, The Golden Spoon), who plays Ki Tae, a man with a mysterious past, because of course he has one. This is his big-screen debut, and honestly, we’re ready for the drama and jump scares.
The Cast is Giving Main Character Energy

If the leads weren’t enough, the movie is also bringing in Kim Jun Han (yes, Hospital Playlist fans, rejoice!) and Jang Da Ah, a rising actress you’ll want to keep your eyes on. It’s basically a dream team of talent and tension.
Let’s not forget, this film is produced by the same folks who gave us A Taxi Driver, so you know we’re getting something big.
Filming Has Officially Started
Production kicked off in May 2025, and it’s being directed by Lee Sang Min, known for his stylish thrillers like Honor Guard. With the backing of Showbox and The LAMP, this movie is shaping up to be one of the top new horror Korean movies to watch out for.
Why You Should Be Hyped
If you love K-dramas, scary movies, or just want to see Kim Hye Yoon scream for reasons other than heartbreak, Salmokji is for you. It’s dark, emotional, and just dramatic enough to keep your heart racing.
