What If Your Surgery Gave You Superpowers? ‘Hi5’ Brings That Crazy Dream to Life!

Okay, real talk, imagine you go in for surgery thinking you’re just getting a new heart… and you wake up basically ready to join the Avengers.

Wild, right?

Well, that’s exactly what goes down in Hi5, the new Korean movie that’s got everyone (including me) losing it a little. If you love Korean dramas and secretly wish you had powers, buckle up. This movie’s about to be your new obsession.

Lee Jae In Kicks Things Off, Literally

We meet Wan Seo, played by the amazing lee jae in, a tough Taekwondo fighter who just got a heart transplant.

You’d think recovery would mean, like, quiet walks and soup.

Nope. Wan Seo wakes up ready to dropkick bad guys into next week, superhuman strength and all.

The teaser hits you with that “Did anything change after your surgery?” line, and honestly?

If by “change” you mean “turn into a superhero,” then yeah, just a little.

Ahn Jae Hong: The Guy Who Can Blow You Away (Literally)

Next up, we’ve got Ahn Jae Hong as Ji Seong, who now has the lung power of a hurricane.

One big breath, BAM!, tables flying, papers everywhere, friends clinging to walls.

It’s basically what happens when you sneeze during allergy season… except way cooler.

Watching him try to control it had me laughing so hard, it’s like your uncle with a leaf blower, but if he had superpowers.

GOT7’s Jinyoung… As the Bad Guy?!

Hold up. GOT7’s Jinyoung? Sweet, soft Jinyoung… as a villain?

Yeah. Let that sink in.

The teaser shows him lurking in the shadows, masked up, looking like he’s about to steal everyone’s powers (and maybe your heart a little too).

I don’t know if I want to fight him or join him, but either way, I’m not missing this showdown.

Plot twist: Seeing your favorite K-pop idol turn full evil is lowkey traumatic… but also 100% juicy drama we live for.

More Heroes, More Mayhem

But wait, there’s more!

We’ve got Ra Mi Ran, Kim Hee Won, and Yoo Ah In, all waking up with their own freaky abilities after transplants.

Each character gets a special tattoo that marks their powers.

Basically, if you’re not getting a tattoo and blowing things up in this movie, are you even trying?

This isn’t just some random powers situation, it’s full-on Korean Avengers Assemble, and I’m so here for it.

Grab Your Popcorn, “Hi5” Is About to Blow You Away

If you’re into Korean movies, fantasy chaos, or just want to see lee jae in punch fate in the face, Hi5 is calling your name.

And trust me, you don’t want to be the last person at brunch who hasn’t seen it.

Watch the teaser, plan a movie night, and get ready to laugh, gasp, and maybe wish you had new organs too.

(Just kidding. Sort of.)

Catch you at the theaters, superhero.
