Can you believe it?
One minute we were crying over enlistment letters, and now, BOOM, BTS’s RM and V are officially done with military service. Yes, you read that right. RM is out. V is out. Our boys are back, and honestly, I’m not okay (but in the best way possible).
The Countdown Is Over, Bestie
It’s been 18 months since BTS RM military duty began. Remember how we all tried to act cool when he left, like, “We’re fine. It’s just a little break”? Yeah, that lasted five seconds. RM served in the military band, probably charming everyone with his saxophone skills and deep life quotes.
And V? Oh, you know, just casually joined the Special Duty Team, yes, the elite unit that sounds like it’s straight out of a K-drama. Of course Taehyung went full action hero. Classic V behavior.
The Discharge Scene? Total Movie Moment
June 10, 2025. Chuncheon’s Sports Park.
RM walks out, looking like the main character, playing the actual saxophone in uniform. I mean, who does that? Only RM.
Then comes V, bouquet in hand, smiling like a man who knows he’s about to break the internet. And guess what? V BTS new photos dropped, and the timeline hasn’t recovered since. That hair. That glow. That suit. It’s giving “just walked out of a Vogue shoot with military badges.”
Fans were there in full force, tears, balloons, lightsticks, the works. Someone even played “Spring Day” on their phone, and suddenly I was crying in public for no reason again.
They Spoke. We Melted.
RM reflected on his time in uniform, saying:
“Although there were difficulties [while in the military], I felt that there were many people who had been protecting our country in our stead while we were promoting [as BTS]. It was a meaningful time in which I could become closer to other people who have served in the military before.”
And because he’s always looking out for others, he added:
“I’m worried for my juniors. I hope to see them again in good health after they endure a bit longer and return to society. Thank you to ARMY who waited. I will work hard as BTS’s RM back in society.”
V, of course, shared his own heartfelt message too:
“I want to sincerely express my gratitude to ARMY who waited. If you wait just a little bit longer, we will return with great performances.”
He thanked his fellow soldiers and promised,
“I’ll work hard as an admirable person back in society.”
And what do they want to do now that they’re free men?
RM didn’t even hesitate:
“I want to perform the most. I want to quickly work hard to make an album and return to the stage. We will greet [fans] again as BTS’s RM and V. Thank you.”
Insert ARMY’s collective scream here.
The BTS Military Saga: Almost Complete
With RM and V out, that’s four down. Jin came back first (and we all saw those arms, right?). J-Hope followed with his dance moves intact. Now, Jimin and Jungkook are next, June 11, just a day away. Suga finishes on June 21.
We’re this close to a full-group reunion. Can you hear the stadiums shaking yet?
